Thomas Meyerhoffer is a creator and a visionary. Born in Sweden in 1965, after earning a degree in Industrial Design from Art Center, he started his journey at Porsche, only to go west to California for Apple. It was there, working with Sir Jony Ive on projects like the eMate and iMac, Meyerhoffer explored the idea of giving objects meaning through form and function. His designs universally connecting with people on a deeper level. This notion has continued to inform his practice across the fields of design, sports, and technology. These theories, along with contemporary culture, shape Meyerhoffer’s design practice today. His remarkably diverse range of successful designs is experienced by hundreds of millions of people worldwide everyday.
Meyerhoffer has collaborated with leading brands such as Apple, Nike, and Coca-Cola. And several successful Silicon Valley startups. An avid surfer and shaper of a line of radical surfboards, he helped change the perception of what people are excited to surf today. In 2016 he even developed the design strategy for Bloomberg’s presidential campaign. In addition to overseeing his design studio, Meyerhoffer is an active entrepreneur. He Co-Founded Latch, a startup that went public in 2021 and is currently working with Worldcoin and Tools For Humanity, an visionary startup for social good.
A recipient of numerous International Design Awards, Meyerhoffer is holding various patents. He has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Outside Magazine, Financial Times and The Surfers Journal. His work shown in museums and exhibitions worldwide including SF MOMA, Design Museum London, and The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, NYC.
