Thomas Meyerhoffer is a designer known for simplicity and innovation. He works in a remarkably diverse range spanning sport, technology and wellbeing collaborating with world leading brands and successful startups. Since 1999 Meyerhoffer has designed and made tools for meaningful experiences.

Biography

Thomas Meyerhoffer was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1965. He studied Industrial Design at the Art Center College of Design in Switzerland. Thomas’ early career includes tenure at Apple, IDEO, and Porsche.

In 1999 he established his own design practice after working at Apple as a Senior Designer. Today Meyerhoffer is Co-founder & Chief Design Officer of Latch and has worked with several other succesfull startups through his career.

Meyerhoffer is a well regarded surfboard shaper and in 2016 he was featured in Surfers Blood, Patrick Trefz award winning documentary together with a cast of respected individuals who are connected by their relationships to the ocean and their surfcraft.

His work has been acknowledged by international design awards including IDEA, D&AD, Good Design Australia and IF Design Awards. He has been recognized for his skill in creating intuitive objects and experiences by publications including The New York Times, Outside Magazine, The Surfers Journal and institutions like Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, SFMOMA, and The Design Museum, London.
