Thomas Meyerhoffer is a designer, entrepreneur, and visionary. Born in Sweden, he began his career at Porsche before moving to California, where he joined Apple during a pivotal era of innovation. There he developed a belief that great design creates meaning by bringing together form, function, and the human experience.
This philosophy has guided his work across technology, transportation, sports, and consumer products. His designs have reached millions of people worldwide and are known for their longevity—products that remain relevant, useful, and meaningful to people for many years.
Meyerhoffer has collaborated with leading brands including Apple and Coca-Cola, as well as numerous Silicon Valley startups. As an entrepreneur, he co-founded Latch, which later became a publicly traded company on Nasdaq. Today, he works with emerging ventures at the intersection of design, technology, and human experience, including Tools For Humanity.
An avid surfer and waterman, Meyerhoffer is also known for his unconventional surfboard designs, which challenged traditional assumptions about performance and influenced a generation of surfers and shapers.
He has received numerous international design awards, holds multiple patents, and has had his work featured in publications including the Financial Times, The New York Times, and The Surfer’s Journal, as well as exhibited at institutions including SFMoMA, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and the Design Museum in London.
